YOU WILL NEED A CODE FROM THE CAMP NL COMMITTEE TO PURCHASE THESE TICKETS
We wish to reiterate the expectations for trail guides at the event.
1. Guides are provided meals, camping, and two guide shirts in exchange for their time and work at the event. The event is for 3 days. Some exceptions can be made based on personal availability.
2. Guides must supply their own fuel and related items for their trail rigs.
3. Guides are required to work in teams of two or more.
4. Guides shall represent the OF4WD professionally when interacting with participants, the public, other organizations, and fellow guides and event staff.
5. Guides are expected to collaborate, share information, and support the guide team to ensure the event's success. This includes identifying potential risks and assessing personal comfort levels with assignments.
6. Guides are responsible for working at the trail sign-up table or participant games as scheduled, with assignments distributed evenly by the Guide Coordinator. (Camp NL committee and guide coordinator evaluating the amount of time required for the 2025 event to minimize impact on guides work load)
7. Guides oversee their assigned trail runs, ensuring the safety of all participants.
8. Guides ensure all participants travel to and from the trail safely.
9. Guides must use their personal cell phones and install WhatsApp for communication with the guide team.
10. Guides should install the "What 3 Words" app for emergency use with OPP dispatch.
11. Guides need a communication mechanism with participants, such as FRS or CB radio.
12. Guides are required to pre-run their trails to ensure they are clear and familiar with the routes.
13. Guides must display an event trail guide sticker on their vehicle throughout the event, which can be removed afterward. Stickers are of a material that is easy to remove.
14. Guides shall wear the provided trail guide shirts for easy identification.
15. Guides should engage with participants to ensure satisfaction, including pre-trail introductions and assessing comfort levels, providing direction, encouragement, patience, and leadership.
16. Guides must enforce trail rules, including seatbelt use, the "three-try" rule on obstacles, zero tolerance for mind-altering substances, speed limits on roadways, and noise control.
